ABOUT RESILIENT PEOPLE AND THE CREATOR JANET FANAKI
At RESILIENT PEOPLE we tell stories about ordinary people doing extraordinary things.
My name is Janet Fanaki and I created the site because of my own story.
In 2016, our family was hit with some devastating news. My husband was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. Following months of surgery, radiation and chemotherapy, he is once again living a normal and vibrant life.
As I tell our story to more and more people, I am learning that many have dealt with their own challenges and found ways to turn their negative into a positive. This is how the idea of the website came to be.
Some of the people you will meet are an autistic teenager who is a world-renowned artist, a man who created a foundation to comfort cancer patients in the wake of his wife's passing, and a woman who became an outspoken HIV and AIDS advocate when her husband passed away from the disease.
Their stories will make you wonder, "How did they deal with it and move on?"
RESILIENT PEOPLE have bounced back and now focus on helping other people to be resilient too. I'm really looking forward to meeting more amazing individuals and sharing their stories with you.
